当系统中有气体溢出时，气体会顺着管道向上爬，zui终聚集在系统的zui高点，当气体进入排气阀阀腔聚集在排气阀的上部，随着阀内气体的增多，压力上升，当气体压力大于系统压力时，气体会使腔内水面下降，浮筒随水位一起下降，打开排气口；气体排尽后，水位上升，浮筒也随之上升，关闭排气口。同样的道理，当系统中产生负压，阀腔中水面下降，排气口打开，由于此时外界大气压力比系统压力大，所以大气会通过排气口进入系统，防止负压的危害。如拧紧排气阀阀体上的阀帽，排气阀停止排气，通常情况下，阀帽应该处于开启状态。排气阀也可以跟隔断阀配套使用，便于排气阀的检修。

1.排气阀的浮筒采用低密度的PPR和复合材料材料，此材料即使长时间在高温水的浸泡下也不会产生变形。不会造成浮筒活动困难。
2.浮筒杠杆采用硬质塑料，杠杆与浮筒和支座之间的联接都采用活动联接，故不会在*运行时产生锈蚀，导致系统不能工作而发生漏水。
3.杠杆的密封端面部分是采用弹簧支撑，可以随杠杆的运动相应伸缩，保证在不排气的情况下的密封性。

操作原理
当管内开始注水时，塞头停留在开启位置，进行大量排气，当空气排完时，阀内积水，浮球被浮起，传动塞头至关闭位置，停止大量排气，当管内水正常输送时，如有小量空气聚集在阀内到相当程度，阀内水位下降，浮球随之下降，此时空气由小孔排出，当抽水机停止，管内水流空时或遇管内产生负压时，此时塞头迅速开启，吸入空气，确保管线*。
